Wafaa Jameel

I am an Iraqi visual artist currently living in the United States. I graduated from the Institute of Fine Arts in Baghdad in 2007. Throughout my artistic career, I have participated in numerous local and international exhibitions in Iraq, the United States, and other countries. My work is distinguished by its strong Arabic identity, with a particular focus on the Baghdadi style. Through my paintings, I reflect the beauty of Iraq, its rich civilization, and the resilience and elegance of Iraqi women. My artworks celebrate life, hope, and perseverance while preserving the cultural heritage of my homeland. Through my exhibitions and artistic participation, I have sought to share the voice and spirit of Iraqi women with the world. My artistic journey extends beyond canvas, as I also create hand-painted designs on clothing, handbags, ceramics, and glass, bringing art into everyday life. In addition, I established my own art studio, where I create original works and offer art classes to inspire and share my passion for painting with others.
