About the work: “Scheherazade and Shahryar in Baghdad” In this painting, the legend of One Thousand and One Nights blends with the spirit of Baghdad, as Scheherazade sits before Shahryar, telling him tales that soften his hardened heart. Surrounding them are Baghdad’s towering palm trees and lush trees, as if nature itself is listening to their stories, participating in preserving them and spreading their magic. The work symbolizes how stories, like palm trees, strike deep roots in  the earth and their branches extend through time, providing shade and life and standing as witnesses to history.

نبذة عن العمل : “شهرزاد وشهريار في بغداد” في هذه اللوحة، تمتزج أسطورة ألف ليلة وليلة مع روح بغداد، حيث تجلس شهرزاد أمام شهريار تروي له الحكايات التي تُلين قلبه القاسي. تحيط بهما نخيل بغداد الباسقة وأشجارها الوارفة، وكأن الطبيعة نفسها تنصت لقصصها، فتشارك في حفظها ونشر سحرها. العمل يرمز إلى أن الحكايات، مثل النخيل، تضرب جذورها في الأرض وتمتد أغصانها عبر الزمن، تمنح الظل والحياة وتبقى شاهدة على التاريخ.
