About the work: Through a visual reading of the ceramic work, created with low-temperature clay and kaolin clay (added using the fabric technique), the piece was fired at 950 degrees Celsius. Metal oxides (iron, copper, and manganese oxides) were used to rub the clay surface, and then a thin layer of transparent glaze was sprayed over the surface. This gave the fabric-like texture a contrasting color value to the metallic oxide base, achieving an aged and antique appearance to highlight the work’s aesthetic value. The flamingo, a migratory bird that has visited the Iraqi marshes for thousands of years, inspired the work. This bird is constantly being hunted and sold in markets, and sometimes even killed. These incidents have increased since the marshes were declared a World Heritage Site, reflecting an uncivilized attitude. Hence, the work draws a direct metaphor and allusion to the shapes of plates from the era of agricultural villages, which have been depicted with the image of this bird for millennia, as a symbolic representation.

نبذة عن العمل : من خلال القراءة البصرية للعمل الخزفي الذي تم انجازه بطينة واطئة الحرارة وايضا طينة الكاوؤلين (المضافة بتكنيك القماش) اذ تم فخر العمل بدرجه حرارة 950 درجة مئوية واستخدام الاكاسيد المعدنية (اوكسيد الحديد والنحاس والمنغنيز) في دلك السطح الفخاري ومن ثم رش سطح العمل الخزفي بطبقة خفيفة من الزجاج الشفاف مما اعطى لشكل القماش قيمة لونية مغايرة لارضية العمل ذات الاكاسيد المعدنية وذلك لتحقيق فكرة التعتيق والقدم لاظهار القيمة الجمالية للعمل. طائر الفلامنكو وهو طائر مهاجر وزائر لاهوار العراق منذ الاف السنين ،جاءت فكرة العمل من الاعتداء المستمر لهذا الكائن من قبل البعض من خلال اصطياده و بيعه في الاسواق واحيانا قتله وازدادت هذه الحوادث بعد اعلان الاهوار محمية عالمية مما عكس رؤية غير متحضرة . ومن هنا جاءت الاستعارة والتناص المباشر لاشكال الصحون من عصر القرى الزراعية والتي رسم عليها شكل هذا الطائر منذ الاف السنين كتعبير مجازي.
