About the work: The ceramic piece is a round vase with a flat, rather than spherical, shape and twisted handles on either side. The technique employed is inspired by a local, traditional Iraqi household item: the “tabakiya” (a type of clay pot). The sides are decorated with engraved and grooved motifs reminiscent of those found on pottery from the agricultural village era, such as deer, triangles, and waves. The piece utilizes an oxidation technique, creating an aged appearance and a sense of antiquity characteristic of Mesopotamian civilization. This technique is further enhanced by smoothing raised areas and saturating the recessed areas and grooves with oxidation, resulting in a contrasting color between the raised and recessed sections. The piece is fired at a low temperature of 930 degrees Celsius and then sprayed with a clear glaze to fix the oxidation and give the surface a subtle sheen.

نبذة عن العمل : تكون العمل الخزفي من شكل زهرية دائرية ذات شكل مسطح وليس كروي ذات مقابض على جانبي العمل ملتوية الشكل ،وتميز العمل الخزفي بتكنيك مأخوذ من مفردة بيئية محلية وهي (الطبكية المستخدمه في البيوت العراقية قديما ) ، ايضا زين العمل الخزفي من جوانبه بمفردات زخرفية محفورة ومحززة مأخوذة من الزخارف في اواني عصر القرى الزراعية كالأيائل والمثلثات والامواج ، وتميز العمل باستخدام تقنية الدلك بالاوكسيد واضفاء ميزة التعتيق وروحية القدم التي تنتمي للحضارة الرافدينية ولاعطاء قيمة جمالية من خلال مسح المناطق البارزة وتشبع الاوكسيد في المناطق الغائرة و الحزوز مما اعطى تباين لوني بين الاجزاء البارزة والاجزاء المنخفضة وفخرالعمل بدرجه حرارة واطئة 930 درجة مئوية وبعدها رش بزجاج شفاف لتثبيت الاوكسيد واضفاء لمعة خفيفة لسطح العمل .
