 Ban Al-Hilley

I am a visual artist started my artistic journey since 1990, exhibited since then in Iraq and United Kingdom. I have drawn a great deal of my inspiration from literature, from books that I love, to art which empowers me and to draw in from the viewer, an understanding and insight of where the mixture of words, colours and different mediums. It tells my story, a story of love, passion, my own life’s experiences of bliss, sorrow, and war. This symbolism of words combined with the images that I have created into an integrated diorama.I love working with different mediums, exploring each one’s characters, but my biggest passion is watercolours. As an Arabic female artist, my passionate exploration of texture, colours, and various exotic mediums, has opened a plethora of new techniques. Each one is an inspiration that emphasise the beauty of the world around us. Currently I am studying BA Fine Art at Kingston University , London , UK, the benefits that I gained from this has propelled me to pursue my studies furthermore by seeking higher courses. This course has developed my skills and equipped me with core skills, contextual knowledge and wide range of subject specialist disciplines. This experience has provided me with a comprehensive introduction to the realities of art.
Participation with the Iraqi Women Artists  website: 

• Participation in the (Nawar 2) exhibition, which was held in the hall of the Amna Suwarka Museum – Sulaymaniyah, in cooperation between the Iraqi Formations website and Cihan University in Sulaymaniyah, on the date of 4/15/2024.
• Participation in the(Nawar) exhibition, which was held in cooperation between the Iraqi Formations website and Cihan Gallery – Cihan University in Erbil, on 11/2/2024.
• Participation in the Huna and Abaq exhibition in the Jordanian capital, Amman, 2023.
