Thanaa kamil

An Iraqi painter and graduate of the Institute of Fine Arts, she possessed an early passion for visual arts that began at the age of five. She is interested in Arab and Eastern culture, drawing inspiration from Arab and Islamic heritage, and is influenced by Orientalist paintings in the details of ornamentation, costumes, and the Eastern environment.

Her work focuses on transforming ancient stories and narratives, such as the Book of Animals and Meadows of Gold, into oil paintings that capture the spirit of the text and translate it visually into artistic scenes imbued with symbolism and classical beauty. She has participated in numerous local and international exhibitions, including:
